Simple Mindfulness Exercise

This straightforward exercise will allow you to take your first steps to mindfulness meditation by focussing on your breathing.

This practice is simply called ‘mindful breathing. Make sure you are free to give the exercise your full attention. Once you are settled comfortably, it takes just two minutes to practice this exercise.
Try using it several times a day for a week, and see how your skill of focusing on the ‘now’ develops.
This is a vital skill to help you counter with stress, worry, and other negative emotions. You can also use it to improve your concentration and to re-focus if you have been frustrated, annoyed or distracted.
